INSTRUCTIONS: IRS FORM 1040-ES (ESTIMATED TAX FOR INDIVIDUALS)


As an individual taxpayer, you may submit an IRS Form 1040-ES to calculate how much you must pay on anticipated wages from which taxes have not been withheld. This form can be found on the official website of the IRS. This article discusses the form, which is part of a larger file containing instructions and other information.

IRS Form 1040-ES (Estimated Tax For Individuals) Step 1: On page five, a worksheet is provided for those who need to calculate self-employment taxes and deductions. If you are not self-employed, you do not have to complete this section. This is for your use and is not submitted to the IRS.

IRS Form 1040-ES (Estimated Tax For Individuals) Step 2: Page seven contains the estimated tax worksheet. Consult the instructions to enter your expected, adjusted gross income for 2012 on line 1.
