INSTRUCTIONS: CALIFORNIA ORDER TERMINATING GUARDIANSHIP (Form GC-260)

The form discussed in this article is used to order the termination of a California guardianship. This document can be obtained from the website maintained by the California Judicial Branch.

California Order Terminating Guardianship GC-260 Step 1: In the first box, enter the name of your attorney, their State Bar number and address, their telephone number, and the name of the represented party. If you are not represented by an attorney, enter your name, address and telephone number. In either case, entering a fax number or email address is optional.

California Order Terminating Guardianship GC-260 Step 8: On lines 1c through 1l, place a check mark next to all applicable parties attending the hearing in person and enter their names.

California Order Terminating Guardianship GC-260 Step 10: On line 2b, indicate with a check mark whether notice of hearing has been dispensed or should be to people listed below.

California Order Terminating Guardianship GC-260 Step 11: Check the box on line 2c if it is in the minor's best interest to terminate guardianship of their person. Check line 2d if is in the minor's best interest to terminate guardianship of their estate.
