INSTRUCTIONS: NEW YORK NONRESIDENT AND PART-YEAR RESIDENT INCOME TAX RETURN (Form IT-203)
New York nonresidents and part-year residents who owe income tax to the state should file a form IT-203. This document is found on the website of the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance.
New York Nonresident And Part-Year Resident Income Tax Return IT-203 Step 1: Give the beginning and ending dates of your fiscal year if not filing on a calendar year basis.
New York Nonresident And Part-Year Resident Income Tax Return IT-203 Step 2: Enter your name, address and Social Security number. Enter your spouse's name and Social Security number if filing jointly.

New York Nonresident And Part-Year Resident Income Tax Return IT-203 Step 9: Lines 51 through 55 are only for those who lived in New York City or Yonkers. Lines 57 through 59 are for voluntary contributions. Lines 60 through 71 contain the final calculations to determine the amount owed. If you are owed a refund, you may enter information to enable a direct deposit on line 72. Complete line 73 if a part-year resident, and line 74 if a nonresident.
