INSTRUCTIONS: NEW JERSEY CLAIM FOR REFUND - REALTY TRANSFER FEE (Form RTF-3)

New Jersey residents who wish for a refund for part or all of their realty transfer fee or who seek an exemption may file a form RTF-3 within four years of the transaction. This form can be found on the website of the state of New Jersey.

New Jersey Claim For Refund - Realty Transfer Fee RTF-3 Step 1: On line 1, give the name of the person or business entity which made the overpayment. On line 2, give the street address, city, state and zip code of the property in question.

New Jersey Claim For Refund - Realty Transfer Fee RTF-3 Step 2: On line 3, give the name of both parties involved in the sale, the date on which the deed was transferred, and the county in which this was performed.

New Jersey Claim For Refund - Realty Transfer Fee RTF-3 Step 3: On line 4, give the total realty transfer fee which was paid and the amount for which you are seeking a refund.
