INSTRUCTIONS: MISSISSIPPI PERSONAL PROPERTY RENDITION (Form 73-033)

Mississippi businesses must annually file a personal property rendition form documenting all personal property used in their business. This form 73-033 must also be completed whenever there are changes in your personal inventory. The form is found on the website of the Mississippi Department of Revenue.

Mississippi Personal Property Rendition 73-033 Step 1: Enter the name of the county you are filing in. You will be provided with a sticker with your name and address to place in the space labeled "Return To." If the information there is incorrect, enter your name and address where indicated.

Mississippi Personal Property Rendition 73-033 Step 2: Section 1 asks for the company's DBA name, the address, the name of at least one owner, the previous year's reported inventory, the location of records, and a description of your company's primary business activity.

Mississippi Personal Property Rendition 73-033 Step 3: Section 2 asks for either your inventory as of January 1 or the average of your inventory for the last year from January 1. Enter the total cost of your inventory, consigned/floor plan inventory and fuel inventory. If you are an industrial business, enter the value of your raw materials, works in progress and finished goods. Give the total where indicated.

Mississippi Personal Property Rendition 73-033 Step 4: The first part of section 3 asks you to detail all furniture and equipment acquired and deleted from your use. Give a description of each item, the year it was purchased, whether it was bought new or used, the year of manufacture, and the installation cost.

Mississippi Personal Property Rendition 73-033 Step 5: Question 4 in section 3 asks if you possess any equipment at your business you do not own. If so, give a description of each item, the name and address of its owner, the selling price if stated in the lease, the annual or monthly rent paid, the year of manufacture and the year of installation. Question 5 in section 3 asks about any leasehold improvements arranged with another party, such as shelving and plumbing. If so, give a description of the improvement, the cost and the year of installation.

Mississippi Personal Property Rendition 73-033 Step 6: Only complete section 4 if you are a rental or leasing company.

Mississippi Personal Property Rendition 73-033 Step 7: The property owner should sign and date the form.
