Residents of Cook County, Illinois who agree to divorce can submit a joint petition requesting separation if they have no children and the wife is not pregnant, have been married less than eight years, and have created a separation agreement detailing how they plan to divide their assets. Additionally, their combined income cannot be greater than $35,000 and neither can earn more than $20,000. This form can be obtained from the website of the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court.
