INSTRUCTIONS: COLORADO DECEDENT'S ESTATE INVENTORY (Form JDF 941)

Colorado Decedent's Estate Inventory JDF 941 Step 1: Check the first box if filing in district court.

Colorado Decedent's Estate Inventory JDF 941 Step 2: Check the second box if filing in Denver Probate Court.

Colorado Decedent's Estate Inventory JDF 941 Step 3: On the first blank line, enter the name of the county in which the court is located.

Colorado Decedent's Estate Inventory JDF 941 Step 4: Where indicated, enter the court address.

Colorado Decedent's Estate Inventory JDF 941 Step 5: In the second box, enter the name of the decedent whose estate is concerned.

Colorado Decedent's Estate Inventory JDF 941 Step 6: In the third box, enter the name and address of your attorney, as well as their phone number, fax number, email address and attorney registration number. If you are not represented by a lawyer, instead provide your name, address, telephone number, fax number and email address.

Colorado Decedent's Estate Inventory JDF 941 Step 8: To complete the inventory summary on the first page, first complete the rest of the form. Schedule 1 on the second page requires you to detail real estate property. Enter each piece of property's address in the first column, the type of property in the second column and its estimated value in the third column.

Colorado Decedent's Estate Inventory JDF 941 Step 9: Schedule 2 requires you to detail stocks, bonds, mutual funds, securities and investment accounts. Enter the type of asset in the first column, the number of shares or the last four digits of the account number in the second column, and the value of each account in the third column.

Colorado Decedent's Estate Inventory JDF 941 Step 10: Schedule 3 requires you to document mortgages, notes and cash as instructed. Enter the type of asset in the first column, the type of account in the second column, the last four digits of the account number in the third column, and the balance of each asset in the fourth column. Complete the rest of the form as instructed.
